Celebrating National Poetry Month in Canada on Thursday, 17th April 2025.

Dr. McClymont began her performance by reading a selection of jaikus (Jamaican haikus), breaking off occasionally to share information with the audience like a griot. Dr. McClymont combined storytelling and poetry, weaving words together like a garland. She also honoured her enslaved African ancestors, celebrated two inspirational poets (Claude McKay and Langston Hughes), as well as acknowledging the young poets present.
